Aftercare Programing:

The after-school program at Northeast Woodland Charter School is open to all ages pre-k through eighth grade. We offer this program to support our local working families, providing a safe, wholesome, educational, and fun place for their children after school hours. We have dedicated, trained, and loving staff members who work diligently to incorporate the values and standards we hold at our school throughout the afternoon program, giving children more opportunities to be outside with nature, help with cooking, serving, and cleaning up, as well as engaging with free play, the arts, and academic materials. This is a less structured time of the day, giving children the space to process their day of learning by choosing from an array of developmentally appropriate activities provided.

The daily rhythm of our after-school program is reliable for children, lending itself to being a safe space for children to be after a day of learning. We spend as much time as we can outside with the options of structured activities or free play; we provide a homemade snack, which we eat together for a moment of quiet and cohesiveness, and usually end our time with a mellower activity (reading, a craft, etc.) as we prepare the children to go home to their evening routines. Northeast Woodland’s school program is an opportunity for children to get to know students from other grades, building and nurturing friendships across age groups that create a close-knit, family-like atmosphere throughout the school day at Northeast Woodland Charter School.

The cost for this program runs $12/day and signs ups happen through your family BigSIS portal.
